Submerged arc furnace
The submerged arc furnace is also called electric arc furnace or resistance furnace. It is mainly used for reducing and smelting ores, carbon reducing agents and solvents and other raw materials. It mainly produces ferrosilicon, ferromanganese, ferrochromium, ferrotungsten and ferrosilicon-manganese alloys. It is an important industrial raw material and chemical raw materials such as calcium carbide in metallurgical industry.
Its working characteristics are using carbon or magnesium refractories as lining and self-culturing electrodes. The electrode is inserted into the charge for submerged arc operation. The energy and current of the arc pass through the charge. The resistance of the charge produces energy to melt metal. The charge is added successively, the slag is discharged intermittently, and an industrial electric furnace operates continuously. The transformer of submerged arc furnace has continuous and stable load, low impedance voltage, more voltage regulation series and smaller step difference and strong overload ability. It can be divided into on-load and non-excitation voltage regulation. Generally, the former constant capacity output and the latter constant current output.

The Submerged Arc Furnace is mainly used for Producing ferroalloy (including ferrotungsten, high carbon ferromanganese, high carbon silicon iron, high-carbon Cr, Nickel Iron Alloy) and Silicon, calcium carbide, corundum, Yellow Phosphorous, etc.

3) Low-frequency Submerged Arc Furnace
